Re-designing Life during COVID19

We all assume that "life moves forward as usual".

This assumption that "things remain the same" is an aspect of living life as a human being. For each of us at various points on our journey, "life moving forward as usual" is interrupted by illness, injury, changing locations, changing jobs or death. We accept what life has given us and move on, usually keeping certain aspects of our life in tact.

With the coronavirus pandemic, we have been dislodged from our security of "life moves forward as usual." This time, we are having a collective experience instead of just one or two or a few of us being inconvenienced by life's changes. We are all in this together.

I've decided to use this time to make some changes in my life. I refuse to fight making "life move forward as usual". Instead, I see this time as an opportunity to take the time to redesign my lifestyle.

Gift of Coronavirus

The gift of the coronavirus is the gift of time.

I have written paragraphs for this blog in my head for years, but never found time to type the words on the computer. Now that I have intentionally slowed my life, I have given myself the gift of time to write what is swimming around in my head.

I have also given myself the gift of walking outdoors around the neighborhood, smiling at neighbors and watching children play outside.

We are each free to choose how we approach our "six feet of separation" during this global crisis.

I choose the freedom to redesign my life.

To let in the opportunities I have put aside because I was "living life to the fullest".

Maybe, living life a little slower is really "living life to the fullest".
